1978: Ph.D. (Philosophy) Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India.
Thesis: "The Human Predicament: A Critique of Some PhilosophicalPerspectives."

1987: Ph.D. (Religious Studies) McMaster University, Hamilton. Ontario,Canada.
Thesis: "Toward an Understanding of Man in Saiva Siddhanta: A Studyin Philosophical Anthropology."

Since October 1991: Lecturer at the University of Marburg, Department of Indology and Tibetology to teach Indian Languages (Sanskrit, Hindi, Gujarati) and Indian Philosophy.
