Dr. Matthias Pfeiffer

Mosbach is the place where I grew up. I studied biology at the Philipps-University of Marburg and focussed on genetics, microbiology and biochemistry. For my diploma and Ph. D. thesis on hydrogenases from Methanococcus voltae, I joined the molecular genetics group of Prof. A. Klein. This research is descibed in Pfeiffer et al. 1995 , 1998a, 1998b and on my website "work". An overview about the system I worked with is given in Sorgenfrei et al., 1997.

In September 1998, I established the first gene synthesis service within Central Europe for Interactiva, now owned by Thermo Scientific. References for this gene synthesis service are given in Theil et al., 2001, Sun et al., 2003, Pfeiffer et al., 2004, Roehrich et al., 2005 or Grill et al., 2007. In addition, I worked with a versitale biochip (Cieplik et al., 2001). In January 2002, I joined forces with Medigenomix, an Eurofins company, responsible for marketing and sales of molecular biology service. I work for the Eurofins MWG and Operon Biotechnologies since January 2007.

During my sparetime, I studied business management at the SRH Fernfachhochschule Riedlingen and hold my diploma since 2004. In my sparetime, I give trainings in "sales, distribution and marketing"
